The High Priestess upright
Trusting intuition here is a form of careful observation, not guesswork: knowledge ripens in silence and needs time before it can be put into a sentence. The High Priestess advises against forcing an answer through talk, analysis and asking yet another person. She usually points to a matter where the most important information has not surfaced yet: someone's decision has not been made, a document has not arrived, someone has not told the truth. The right move is to write down what you see and hold off on a verdict.
The High Priestess reversed
Reversed, a hunch gets ignored or drowned out by someone else's confidence, and it was usually the hunch that had it right. A second version: there is something unsaid or a secret in the matter, so any judgment rests on an incomplete picture. It can also be too much mystery where saying plainly what is going on would have been enough. Then it is worth checking whether delaying the answer still serves the matter or has started shielding it from scrutiny.
Symbolism

In the "situation" position, The High Priestess says the matter is not settled yet and part of the information remains out of reach. In the "action" position she rarely tells you to do anything; more often to observe, take notes and not commit yourself too early. As an "outcome" she means an answer that will come later and on its own. Beside The Moon the risk of mistaking intuition for fear grows; beside Justice the signal is the opposite: the hunch will be confirmed by facts, not only by an impression.
Love and relationships
Often a feeling on one side or both that has not been talked about yet. If you are single, she advises watching how someone behaves instead of interpreting their silence. In a relationship she points to a topic that is being deliberately avoided; The High Priestess does not say to raise it right away, but she warns that further silence will start costing closeness.

A stage of reconnaissance: a job application with no reply, a negotiation where the other side has not shown its hand, a project waiting on someone else's decision.
