Reversed, the King of Swords applies the rules selectively: he reads the clause the way that suits him and calls it objectivity. He can also be an authority who has stopped listening to anyone, or someone who explains every decision for so long that nobody knows what was actually decided. Cold logic then becomes a tool of advantage.
Symbolism
The King sits facing forward on a stone throne carved with butterflies and sylphs, the sword in his right hand, tilted slightly to the side. His robes are blue and red: thought and will together. The sky behind him is uniform, the trees in the background barely stir, though the clouds are moving. He looks straight at whoever stands before him.
