Someone is gathering information, looking in every direction, and asking the question the rest of the room avoids out of politeness. The Page is only learning to handle the blade: sometimes accurate, sometimes clumsy, rarely cruel. In a spread it often means the start of a course of study, an exploratory conversation, or a message bringing new facts, still incomplete but enough to change the picture. Worth listening to, without citing as a source.
Page of Swords reversed
Reversed, the Page of Swords turns curiosity into talking behind backs: information travels further than it should and loses its context along the way. It can also be eavesdropping, checking someone else's phone, or asking questions only to collect material. Sometimes it simply means a course of study abandoned after two weeks.
Symbolism
A young figure stands on a hillock holding a sword in both hands, raised and tilted, not yet fully mastered. Hair and clouds stream in the same direction, and in the background a flock of birds and bending trees show the wind is strong here. The stance is alert, the body turned sideways, as if someone had just heard something behind them.
How to read this card in a spread
In the "situation" position it usually describes a message, a preliminary conversation, or a younger person asking awkward questions. As the "action": ask, verify, request the data before you believe the version you were given. As the "outcome" it promises information, not a resolution. Next to the King of Swords the difference is that between a trainee and a judge: one asks, the other rules; next to the Seven of Swords it warns that someone is gathering news not for themselves.
Love and relationships
The getting-to-know-you stage, with a lot of questions and few declarations: messages, asking mutual friends, checking profiles. In a relationship the card can signal that someone is starting to ask about things that have gone unspoken until now. The conversation is needed here, but the tone slides easily into interrogation.
Work and money
An internship, a new role, training, the first serious research before a decision. The card favors collecting offers, comparing terms, and asking questions at the interview. With money: checking the costs nobody else asks about. It warns against sharing information at work that is not yours to share.

Ask the question everyone politely steps around, but ask the person it concerns, not the bystanders. Check the source before you repeat anything further.
